Let yourself go to a good night of sleep ..
Take care of your bedroom's temperature.
Many of you maybe never heard about it, but the temperature of the room you're sleeping in has a huge influence on the time that you need to fall asleep. Science recommends to sleep in a bedroom between 18-18,5 degrees celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit). The point here is that your body needs to cool down to fall asleep, and if the room you're in is way too hot, you're gonna stay awake turning in your bed.
Create an inviting atmosphere that will lead you to sleep
Get rid off your old mattress ! Throw away your broken pillows ! If you go to your bed backwards because your bed is just an uncomfortable piece of crap, you can't imagine having some restful nights on it. Invest in your sleeping material, you won't regret it. You spend more than 1/3 of your life under the blanket !
Cut the screen off !
Turn off your phone ! The blue light coming from your phone is ruining your melatonin release. Melatonin is the "vampire hormone" that'll help you get ready to sleep. When the sun goes down, so gets the lights. We come from a bright white light to yellow, orange and red. But don't take the "melatonin dietary supplement" shortcut ! The dosages often don't match with the real needed dosage and substitute naturally produced hormones with artificial ones are usually not a good way to do it.
